A new culture has arisen from entertainment technology—the video game culture on which my work is based. I focus on questioning the human relationship with video games, whether symbiotic or parasitic. My paintings and sculptures mimic video games and their consoles, some contemporary, others considered nostalgic by my generation. I use found objects, spray paints, and stencils for their immediacy, intricate detail, and propagandist nature to make playful, interactive, and color-saturated pieces that often take on ominous overtones.
