About the artist:

Jami Nix Rahn was born in Corpus Christi,Texas and lives and works in Weston, Florida since 2001.

Growing up in a military family Jami often moved from one side of the country to the other.  Her early studies were at the University of North Florida where she studied Graphic Design. She later earned a BFA Summa Cum Laude from Florida Atlantic University. 

Jami Nix Rahn’s early career began in Lisbon Portugal in the turbulent years following the Carnation Revolution of 1974. Mentored by Lisbon Gallery owner Eric Tannock, Jami worked with local artisans to learn the crafts of stone carving and bronze casting.  Jami's early works were influenced by Henry Moore and Constantin Brancusi. 
Jami continued her career in Geneva, Switzerland and Sao Paulo, Brazil before returning to the United States.   Upon her return to the U.S. in the late 80s Jami studied at the Glassell School of Art - Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Texas and later moved to New York where she attended masters classes at the Arts Students League and the National Academy Museum and school.  
Working simultaneously in different mediums Jami often crosses boundaries, merging disciplines and materials. She currently works in painting, sculpture, photography, video and new media. 
Jami Nix Rahn is the recipient of the David and Alfrede Myerson Achievement Award in Fine Art and the Arts and Letters Scholarship, FAU.  She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including Exhibitions at the American Embassy Lisbon Portugal, Naples Museum of Art, Boca Raton Museum of Art, The National Art Museum of Sport, Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Massachusetts State House.
