I was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, and educated in Great Britain, graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1966. I represented contemporary trends in British sculpture in many group exhibitions which traveled extensively in Britain, Europe, the United States and Japan.
I moved to The United States in 1968, teaching at The Philadelphia College of Art, The Univrsity of Iowa, The University of Kentucky, and The University of Cincinnati until 2001, where I am currently a Professor Emeritus of fine art.
I am currently working independently on computer designed and prototyped sculpture and electronic art, exploring multi user interactive networked virtual environments.
I have been working in Activeworlds since 1995, a proprietary multi-user Internet based virtual environment, where I have installed models of my own work, and art and design work created by my students and other artists, in DAAP, the first Activeworlds on line educational zone dedicated to sculpture. Included in the site are continuing displays of compatible sculpture submitted to the Intersculpt biennial exhibitions for 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005.
