Redwood’s practice encompasses sculpture and installation which evoke a sense of play and comment on society’s waste. She graduated from the College of Fine Arts (Sydney) in 2006 and was awarded a one year exchange program at Alfred University, New York.
For the past decade Deborah has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Australia and overseas, including; Japan, China, India and the USA. She has also attended several artist in residence programs, in New York, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont, Jaipur(India), Wellington(NZ) and Sydney.
She has been finalist in many well known Australian sculpture shows such as: SWELL, Yerring Station, Scenic World, the Mt Buller Sculpture Prize and Sculpture in the Vineyards.
She is a founding member of IAVA (Illawarra Association for Contemporary Visual Artists) and is one of the driving forces behind community outreach projects such as “Park(ing) Day” and the promotion of Illawarra professional artists.
