JULIE COLLINS & DEREK JOHN
Julie and Derek have been collaborating since 2001 and between them have exhibited as part of 136 exhibitions including 24 solo exhibitions. Julie has been a professional sculptor for 26 years and an independent curator for 14 years currently Curator of Lorne Sculpture Biennale 2011 & 2014. She was the founding member of the Contemporary Sculptors Association and the Yarra Sculpture Gallery and currently is the Public Art Manager for the City of Ballarat. Derek is also a boilermaker by trade and has been fabricator for many of Australia’s renowned sculptors and public art projects. They have exhibited widely within Australia and are increasingly establishing themselves internationally. Their practice ranges from large-scale public works to small intimate gallery pieces. They are married and live in a small Victorian regional town with their three children.
