Kristin Ann Lindseth
As a sculptor, I have chosen to focus on the human figure since the mid1990s. The bronze figures heads and fragments which I create, represent aspects of the existential journey of being human. Both men and women are represented as well as diverse cultures in this work which is about the inner experience of being and becoming more fully human.
Inner growth is reflected in works like “Transformation” and “Awakening”, which employs a language from my ancestral past in the runes used to invoke the transformative process.
Certain pieces investigate the boundaries between the self and the outside world. Some of these include architectural and other elements that relate the self to the ancestral past, to mythology, and universal concepts.
The sculptures range in size from 20” high to life-sized. And I work in both clay and wax, and cast the final work in bronze. The sculptures are one of a kind.
I hold a Masters Degree from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA and a Bachelors degree in Art from University of Oregon as well as Certificats d’Etudes from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts and the Sorbonne, both in Paris, France.
