Triangle Tango
2007
4' x 8' x 4'
Cor-Ten Steel

Triangle Tango is designed to confine and define space with equilateral planes, yet allow for individual differentiation and movement of the “dancers”. Using positive and negative space, one form complements and completes the other. In this work, I encourage movement and re-positioning of the two separate pieces into many combinations of form and relationship. It is designed to be periodically re-positioned to surprise and delight neighbors and visitors. The construction is of Corten steel, and the elements have developed the rich patina that is characteristic of the material. The basic forms are equilateral and isosceles tetrahedrons, which have been combined to form the male and female “dancers”. The work is approximately 4’ x 4’ x 8’ and currently featured in Downtown Albany Sculpture in the Streets 2008
