This was an outdoor installation at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA consisting of five wooden columns with sculpted ceramic figures. The female forms were nude, vulnerable and out of reach, perched atop impossibly high pedestals. This work grew out of my interest in combining women’s bodies with architectural elements, and took its inspiration from the many statues of the Virgin Mary posed atop columns and spires throughout the city of Rome.
