The International Sculpture Center presents the winners of the 2017 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards. From a pool of 354 nominees from 137 schools, the jury selected 15 award recipients and 16 honorable mentions. Jurors were Edith Newhall, art critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer and a frequent contributor to ARTnews, Philadelphia, PA; Doug Schatz, Professor of Sculpture at the State University of New York, Potsdam, NY; and Gary Garrido Schneider, Executive Director, Grounds For Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ. The 15 award recipients will participate in a Fall/Winter Exhibition, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Belger Crane Yard Studios. Dates TBD and will possibly travel to an alternative location, to be determined, during winter 2017. Check back for updates.

2017 will mark ISC's first year collaborating with Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) on a residency program. Two winners from this year's Student Awards will participate in a 6 week program on GFS's campus. To check out 2017's recipients click here.

The ISC established the Sculpture Residency in Switzerland in cooperation with sculptor Heinz Aeschlimann. This program provides an opportunity for 1-2 Award recipients to work side-by-side with world-renowned sculptor Heinz Aeschlimann, and his wife Gertrud, an art advocate, collector and art patron, in an amazing inter-cultural experience.
