Community Voices: From Argentina, Artist Nicolás Rodriguez Studio Visit

Our newest session of Community Voices will feature artist Nicolás Rodriguez, as highlighted in Sculpture magazine.

This special program, happening on Friday, June 26, 2026 includes a virtual studio visit on the ISC’s YouTube channel to Rodriguez’s studio in Argentina, offering a rare, behind-the-scenes look at his process and working environment. This video will be live and available for viewing on the following channel at 3PM EDT.

https://www.youtube.com/@internationalsculpturecent8831/videos

Born in Mendoza and raised in the Province of Buenos Aires, Rodriguez’s multidisciplinary practice explores themes of origin, time, and materiality. His work draws from local histories, personal and family imaginaries, and the textures of everyday life. Through installation, objects, painting, performance, video, ceramics, and research, he examines manual labor as both a method of inquiry and a moment of truth.

Engaging deeply with art history and Latin American cultural contexts, Rodriguez uncovers symbolic tensions embedded in everyday activities and materials, proposing new interpretations of existing relationships on both symbolic and material levels.

The program will be moderated by María Carolina Baulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Contributing Writer for Sculpture magazine.
