On November 12th, ISC hosted a panel discussion with curators/art professionals in conversation with 3 artists in the field of public art and art initiatives. ARTISTS IN THE LEAD: Public Art Beyond Site, featured Renee Piechocki and Norie Sato in conversation with artists, Edith Abeyta, Buster Simpson, and Rosten Woo. This panel explored ways artists shape and change where they work and how their vision and methods might expand the definition of public art beyond a single site into the larger community. The presentation of the work/ experiences of these artists offered fascinating commentary with a concentration on place and time. The conversation continues here…Ask questions, tell us your thoughts, or offer additional resources!
