Dominic holds a BFA from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and a MFA from the Herron School of Art and Design, Indianapolis. He has exhibited his sculpture and installation work in solo and group exhibitions across the country.
Dominic Sansone is a native of Chicago Illinois and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and a Master of Fine Arts from the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. After completing his BFA studies, he spent two years working for an aerospace company producing fabrication and assembly drawings for satellites, military aircraft, and mobile artillery units. Dominic next spent over a decade in the tradeshow industry where he oversaw worldwide exhibition programs for major multinational corporations, most notably Apple, Inc. The time spent in these two industries had a profound impact on why he embarked on a career as an artist and how he approaches his practice.
Dominic has exhibited his sculpture and installation work in solo and group exhibitions across the country. From the Lower East Side of Manhattan to the sunny shores of Ventura California. His career highlights include; in 2011 his provocative work “Brand New God” was honored by the American Civil Liberties Union of Western Michigan and appeared in independent filmmaker Sean Kenny’s full length motion picture “Burning Folk”; the installation of “Where have all the Soviets gone?” at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ appeared in the May 2016 edition of Sculpture Magazine; he was one of the International Sculpture Center’s artists in residence at Mana Contemporary Jersey City, NJ in the winter of 2017/2018; and in the summer of 2018 he exhibited his sculpture alongside fifty original works of Andy Warhol.
Dominic’s work is included in several collections, most notably; The International Sculpture Center, Mana Contemporary, Stevens Point Sculpture Park, The Ukrainian Museum of New York, Kinsey Institute for Research, SRAM Corporation, and former world heavyweight boxing champion and Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.
