The International Sculpture Center Welcomes New Board Member, Shan Shan Sheng
The International Sculpture Center (ISC), a global nonprofit arts service organization, announced the addition of Shan Shan Sheng to the ISC Board of Trustees.
World renowned artist Shan Shan Sheng, in 1982 came to United States, attending Mount Holyoke College with full scholarship and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree, and continued at Harvard University as an artist-in-residence for two years.
Shan Shan Sheng has held over 40 solo exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America. Her large-scale “Open Wall” project was including in the 53rd Venice Biennale. Her works have been collected by museums around the world. Her public art project “Ocean Wave” at Port of Miami was awarded the best public art project by Americans for the Arts in 2007. Sheng's most recently large-scale multimedia interactive sculpture "Blooming" won International CODAawards in 2019. To this date, Sheng has completed 60 large scales public art projects permanently installed in countries around the world.
Johannah Hutchison, Executive Director of the International Sculpture Center says, “Sheng’s art connections in Asia and Europe will expand ISC’s international outreach. Her expertise with large-scale public installation will be an asset for our constituents; she will be a wonderful addition. We are pleased that Shan Shan will be joining the Board of Trustees at this exciting time.”
Sheng is welcomed by ISC’s Board leadership members Robert Duncan (Chair) of Duncan Aviation, Doug Schatz (Secretary) of SUNY Potsdam, George Tobolowsky (Treasurer), renowned sculptor, and 19 other dedicated members of the ISC governing body, eager to champion the ISC mission, oversee ISC activities, and ensure that the organization is well-equipped to fulfill its mission.
