The International Sculpture Center Receives Grant Award from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts

Grant for $34,248 Will Support Arts Programs and Education in New Jersey

The International Sculpture Center (ISC) announced that it has received an award of $34,248 for General Operating Support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for the state's fiscal year 2017.

The award will enable the ISC to continue providing innovative educational and career-building arts programs in New Jersey that champion the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique and vital contribution to society.

"We are grateful for the continued support of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts," said Johannah Hutchison, ISC Executive Director. "This grant will enable the ISC to continue providing educational and career-building arts programs in New Jersey that champion the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique and vital contribution to society."

In the upcoming year, the award will provide funding that allows the ISC to produce celebrated programs and operations such as ISConnects, a series of lectures and events across New Jersey that connect artists, arts professionals, and the public in a dialogue to increase understanding of sculpture, advance the art form, and provide a supportive environment for sculptors.

Additional 2017 events will include the ISC Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards Exhibition, which honors excellence in emerging student sculpture. Other ISC programs include an expanded ISC Blog, Sculpture magazine; ISC Press; and conferences, galas, awards ceremonies, and events for artists, arts professionals, and audiences.

The International Sculpture Center (ISC) is a member-supported, non-profit organization founded in 1960 to advance the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique and vital contribution to society. ISC programming includes awards to lifetime and student sculptors and patrons and educators, ISConnects, the web site www.sculpture.org, conferences and symposia, publication of Sculpture magazine and ISC Press books, and membership services to sculptors, collectors, patrons, architects, developers, journalists, curators, historians, critics, educators, foundries, galleries, and museums-anyone with an interest in and commitment to the field of sculpture.
