Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards

2020 Student Award Recipients

The International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award was founded in 1994 to recognize young sculptors and encourage their continued commitment to the field of sculpture, as well as to recognize the award recipients' faculty sponsors and their institutions.

The Student Awards program is sponsored in part by Atlantic Foundation, Gertrud and Heinz Aeschlimann, Doris and Donald Fisher Foundation, Grounds for Sculpture, the Jon and Mary Shirley Foundation, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

2020 Student Award Recipients

The ISC is proud to present the recipients of the 2020 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards.

María Carolina Baulo, art historian, curator and arts writer-critic (Buenos Aires, Argentina); Angel Cabrales, artist and educator (El Paso, TX) and Peyton Scott Russell artist and arts instructor (Minneapolis, MN) selected 12 award recipients and 10 honorable mentions from a pool of 217 nominees from over 100 colleges & university sculpture programs in North America and abroad.

The 12 award recipients will participate in an Artsy Online Exclusive exhibition from October 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021. A virtual reception will be held in conjunction with the exhibit in November 2020. The artists' work will be featured in the January/February 2021 issue of the International Sculpture Center's award winning publication, Sculpture magazine.
