Your attendance ensured that we can continue our mission to advance the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique and vital contribution to society. We hope you enjoyed our community bamboo build, Gardenship iron pour, exhibitions,
door prizes, live music, food truck and more.
For the past 60 years, ISC has supported the sculpture community through membership, events, opportunities, awards programs, and publications. The ISC was created with a vision that remains as strong today as it was over half a century
ago, to advance the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique and vital contribution to society.

ISC has chosen the Buckyball as the hallmark of our 60th Anniversary celebration to represent the interconnectedness of the sculpture community, the art world, and society at large. For a full explanation of the Buckyball structure

Strange Devices by Joshua Reiman Artist, educator and author, Joshua Reiman, has served the ISC by continually offering ideas and thought
provoking discussion on the current state of the sculpture field. The recently released publication, Strange Devices, contains two essays, fifteen interviews with artists, and three reviews of exhibitions that express sculpture
as neospatial practice.
Michael Rees: Synthetic Cells: Site and (Para)site Contemporary artist Michael Rees is an acknowledged leader in the field of cutting-edge
digital art. This volume documents a compelling group of Rees's colorful inflatable sculptures that incorporate brilliant structural elements and dynamic interventions of augmented reality.
ISC 60th Anniversary Celebration The ISC will celebrate 60 years of supporting the sculpture community at an in-person event at Gardenship on April
30, 2022. A full day of programming including exhibitions, demonstrations, hands on activities, and more!
2021 ISC Outstanding Educator Celebrating
60 years of honoring excellence! The 2021 Outstanding Educator Award recipient is Foon Sham, professor in the Sculpture Program at University of Maryland, College Park. The ceremony took place on Thursday July 1st at the National
Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Adhoc: Michael Rees in Conversation with Artists, Curators, Writers and more! Michael Rees and International Sculpture Center in partnership with Grounds For Sculpture are excited to present adhoc, a virtual talk series. Join Michael Rees as he talks with special guests who work in art, technology, and

URSULA VON RYDINGSVARD: INTO HER OWN Ursula von Rydingsvard was awarded the International Sculpture Center’s
2014 Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in Sculpture Magazine. URSULA VON RYDINGSVARD: INTO HER OWN is an artistic biography of one of the few women in the world working in monumental sculpture.
Plastic Man, the Artful Life of Jerry Ross Barrish Sometimes an individual is compelled, in the face of daunting odds, to find his identity by making
art and becoming an artist...Plastic Man is a must see film about longstanding and valued ISC member, Jerry Ross Barrish.
George Segal: American Still Life George Segal was the 1992 ISC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. George Segal: American Still Life tells
the story of one man's search for a unique way to express himself, and in the process, provides a lively history of American culture in the last half of the twentieth century.
Sculpture Milwaukee: In Conversation: Thomas J. Price and Courtney J. Martin ISC in partnership with Sculpture Milwaukee presents artist Thomas
J. Price, and Director of the Yale Center for British Art, Courtney J. Martin, as they explore the acute relevance of Price’s work in the social environments of the US and the UK. Sculpture Talks brings together a diverse range
of cultural leaders to discuss artists included in Sculpture Milwaukee.
Intersect Chicago 2020: ARTISTS IN THE LEAD, Public Art Beyond Site On November 12th, 2020, ISC hosted a panel discussion that explored ways
artists shape and change where they work and how their vision and methods might expand the definition of public art beyond a single site into the larger community. This panel featured Renee Piechocki and Norie Sato in conversation
with artists, Edith Abeyta, Buster Simpson, and Rosten Woo.
ISC Public Art Resource Directory Public art today represents an extensive range of work--from the permanent to the ephemeral—that exists to edify,
beautify, distract, concentrate, educate and, crucially, help form and solidify communities. In our directory, you will find artists who create public works, companies that implement them and organizations that support their existence.
ISC Endowment Program and diRosa Center for Contemporary Art ISC is pleased to
present, Fletcher Benton’s Folded Circle with Disc and Arc as the first work added to the ISC Endowment program. This masterpiece of constructivism, iconic of Benton’s work, is currently on loan to diRosa Center for Contemporary
Art in Napa, CA.
Josephine Sculpture Park (Frankfort, KY) 2019 marked ISC's first year collaborating with Josephine Sculpture Park (JSP) on a residency program. Sherwin Rio,
a 2019 Student Award recipient participated in a 4 week summer program living and working on JSP's campus surrounded by artists, professionals, park visitors and sculpture immersed on campus. Sherwin Rio shared his about residency
experience and work (THE SPIRIT'S WORK IS SHARED LIFTING) that he made while in residence at JSP.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park (West Bretton, United Kingdom) The Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) is an open-air showing work by British and international
artists. The park's collection of works by Moore is one of the largest open-air displays of his bronzes in Europe. Yorkshire has hosted exhibitions of many ISC Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Director, Peter Murray, formerly
served on the ISC board.
Student Award Recipient, Jennifer Shelly Keturakis The ISC Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award was founded in 1994 to recognize young sculptors and encourage their continued
commitment to the field of sculpture, as well as to recognize the award recipients' faculty sponsors and their institutions. Hear how this award and ISC impacted this student award recipient.
Against the Odds, An ISC Member Story Mirek Struzik, ISC member and artist from Poland, tells how soon after the fall of communism, he managed to get an issue of Sculpture Magazine in an extraordinary
way. Since then, ISC has had a huge impact on his career - especially in times when Poland was just a few days after the fall of the Iron Curtain.
